Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of the prosocial behavior of PGMI IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo students before and after the application of YouTube video media. The research method used is descriptive quantitative research. The sample for this study was the entire population of PGMI IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo students in the odd semester, totaling 171 people. The sampling technique uses total sampling. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the impact of using YouTube video media on the prosocial behavior of PGMI IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo students before the YouTube video media was implemented, namely: a) indicators based on personal pleasure and on the basis of benefits amounted to 50 (29.24%) in the appropriate category. b) the indicators of obtaining information and sharing useful information are 85 (49.70%) in the appropriate category. c) indicators of sharing information needed by people and having shared information on other social media amounted to 81 (47.37%) appropriate categories. d) the indicators of searching for information in the appropriate category and sharing YouTube information without filtering the content of the video amounted to 8 (4.68%). Furthermore, after applying the YouTube video media, data was obtained: a) indicators on the basis of personal enjoyment and on the basis of benefits totaled 167 students, with a percentage of 97.6% in the very appropriate category. b) indicators of obtaining information and sharing useful information amounted to 169 students, with a percentage of 98.83% in the very appropriate category. c) indicators of sharing information needed by people and having shared information on other social media amounted to 125 students, with a percentage of 73.10% in the very appropriate category. d) the indicators of searching for information in very appropriate categories and sharing YouTube information without filtering the content of the video totaled 166 students with a percentage of 97.08%. Thus, YouTube video media has a significant effect on the prosocial behavior of PGMI IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo students.
