Penggunaan Media Kartu Suku Kata Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Membaca Permulaan Materi Mengenal Kosakata

This study aims to determine whether syllable card media can improve the initial reading ability of vocabulary recognition material for grade 1 students of SDN 7 Limboto. The type of research conducted by the researcher is classroom action research with 2 cycles. The subjects in this study were 20 grade 1 students of SDN 7 Limboto, consisting of 9 girls and 11 boys. Data collection techniques used observation and test techniques. Data analysis techniques used observation data and learning outcomes. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of syllable card media has proven effective in improving the initial reading ability of grade 1 students of SDN 7 Limboto. These results can be seen from the gradual increase in students' reading abilities from cycle I to cycle II. In cycle I, some students began to show developments in reading abilities, where 7 people were in the good category and 3 people were in the very good category, so that the percentage of learning achievement reached 50%. After improvements were made to learning in cycle II, the increase in learning outcomes was very significant. Students who were in the good category numbered 5 people and the very good category increased drastically to 14 people. The percentage of learning implementation also increased to 95%.
