JEKSYAH: Islamic Economics Journal is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. When errors or concerns are identified in a published article, the journal will assess the available evidence and take appropriate action to protect the integrity of the academic literature.
A correction may be issued when a published article contains an error that affects the accuracy, clarity, or interpretation of the work but does not invalidate its overall findings or conclusions.
Corrections may address errors in author information, affiliations, references, data presentation, figures, tables, or other parts of the article. The editorial team will assess the nature and significance of the error before deciding whether a formal correction is necessary.
A correction notice will clearly identify the affected article, describe the error, and explain the correction. The notice will be linked to the original article to ensure that readers can identify the changes.
Retraction may be considered when the reliability or integrity of a published article is seriously compromised. Grounds for retraction may include, but are not limited to:
Evidence of fabrication or falsification of research data.
Plagiarism or substantial unattributed duplication.
Serious errors that invalidate the main findings or conclusions.
Unethical research practices or serious violations of research ethics.
Improper or fraudulent authorship, where the issue materially affects the integrity of the publication.
Duplicate publication or other forms of serious publication misconduct.
Retraction is intended to correct the scholarly record and alert readers that the article should no longer be relied upon as an accurate source of research findings. It is not intended as a punishment for authors.
Where appropriate, the journal will seek an explanation from the authors and may consult relevant institutions or other parties before making a decision. A retraction decision will be based on the available evidence and the seriousness of the issue, rather than solely on whether the authors agree with the decision.
A retraction notice will identify the article, state the reason for retraction, and explain the basis for the decision to the extent possible while respecting applicable confidentiality and legal requirements. The original article will remain identifiable in the journal's archive and will be clearly marked as retracted, rather than silently removed, except where removal is required by law or necessary to address exceptional risks.
An expression of concern may be issued when credible allegations arise regarding the reliability or integrity of a published article, but the available evidence is insufficient to reach a final decision or an investigation is still ongoing.
The journal may issue an expression of concern to inform readers while further clarification or investigation is pursued. The notice will be linked to the relevant article. When sufficient evidence becomes available, the journal will determine whether further action, including a correction or retraction, is warranted.
When a potential error or publication ethics concern is reported, the editorial team will:
Assess the concern and the information or evidence provided.
Request clarification or supporting documentation from the authors when appropriate.
Consult reviewers, editorial advisers, research institutions, or other relevant parties when necessary.
Evaluate the available evidence fairly and confidentially.
Determine the appropriate action based on the nature and seriousness of the issue.
The journal will provide relevant parties with a reasonable opportunity to respond where appropriate. The process will be conducted impartially, and decisions will be based on evidence and publication ethics principles.
Readers, authors, reviewers, and other parties may report suspected errors, plagiarism, data manipulation, or other concerns about published articles by contacting the journal through its official email address.
Reports should identify the relevant article and provide sufficient details or supporting evidence to enable an assessment. The journal will review credible reports and take appropriate action when necessary.
Corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern will be documented transparently and linked to the affected article whenever applicable. The journal will maintain the publication record and make relevant notices accessible to readers.
The editorial team will handle cases in accordance with the journal's publication ethics principles and applicable research integrity standards. The action taken will depend on the evidence, the seriousness of the concern, and the implications for the reliability of the scholarly record.
