Plagiarism Policy

JEKSYAH: Islamic Economics Journal is committed to maintaining academic integrity, originality, and ethical standards in scholarly publishing. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must represent original work and properly acknowledge the ideas, data, and findings of other authors.

1. Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts are screened for similarity using Turnitin or an equivalent plagiarism detection tool. The journal applies a maximum similarity index of 25% as its screening threshold.

The similarity index is used as an initial indicator and does not, by itself, determine whether plagiarism has occurred. Editors also examine the context of matching text, including citations, quotations, references, standard terminology, and other legitimate similarities.

2. Forms of Plagiarism

The journal does not accept manuscripts involving plagiarism or other forms of unacceptable textual appropriation, including:

• Direct plagiarism: using another person's words or ideas without appropriate acknowledgment.

• Mosaic plagiarism: combining or modifying material from other sources without proper attribution.

• Paraphrasing without attribution: presenting another author's ideas in different words without citing the original source.

• Self-plagiarism: reusing substantial portions of one's previously published work without appropriate acknowledgment or disclosure.

• Improper source attribution: presenting data, arguments, or findings from other works without adequate citation.

3. Editorial Action

Manuscripts exceeding the similarity threshold or showing indications of plagiarism may be returned to the authors for clarification or revision, rejected, or subjected to further investigation, depending on the nature and severity of the findings.

If plagiarism or serious publication misconduct is identified after publication, the journal may issue a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction, as appropriate to the circumstances.

4. Authors' Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original, that all sources are properly cited, and that any use of previously published material complies with applicable copyright and attribution requirements. Authors must not submit manuscripts containing plagiarized material or substantial unattributed duplication.

5. Editorial Responsibility

The editorial team is responsible for evaluating similarity reports fairly and consistently. Decisions are made based on the evidence, the context of the similarity, and the journal's publication ethics standards.

JEKSYAH: Islamic Economics Journal reserves the right to reject manuscripts that violate its plagiarism policy and to take appropriate action when violations are discovered after publication.
