Abstract

The character of a child is formed from the family environment, so it is fitting for parents to play an important role in forming the character of children. So that children will have good character values which are currently starting to be eroded by the changing times. This study aims to determine the role of parents in building the character of children in Moyongkota Village, West Modayag District. This type of research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were parents and children in the village of Moyongkota, West Modayag District. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this research is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion/verification. Furthermore, to check the validity of the research data, source triangulation techniques were used. The results showed that the role of parents in building children's character in Moyongkota Village, West Modayag District was carried out through various actions, both through exemplary attitudes, the process of habituation, and supervision of children.
