Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Mental Health Based School Program on students' emotional regulation skills through the implementation of the Happy School Movement at MI Al-Munawarah Kabila. The study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The research instrument was an emotional regulation scale with indicators of emotional awareness, emotional control, and emotional management. The study sample consisted of 30 fourth–sixth grade students. The results showed a significant increase in emotional regulation skills after participating in the program, as evidenced by the difference in pretest and posttest scores. The Happy School Movement program has been shown to positively contribute to students' mental health through simple relaxation activities, collaborative games, counseling corners, journaling, and empathetic communication practices. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating mental health programs into the elementary school curriculum to support children's social-emotional development.
