Review Process

The initial screening by the editors is when they examine the submitted paper. The submitted manuscript will undergo desk evaluation to determine its suitability for the Mutanaqishah: Journal of Islamic Banking, based on focus and scope, similarity score (not exceeding 25% after excluding references and quotes, with a 1% similarity threshold), assessed via Turnitin as the anti-plagiarism software, methodological integrity, article readability, and compliance with the prescribed paper template.

The work will be submitted to two reviewers via a double-blind review process. The reviewers will be allotted only one week to complete the evaluation procedure. The reviewers' remarks are subsequently forwarded to the corresponding author for requisite actions and replies. The author(s) must complete the revision within one week. The editorial panel subsequently proposed a conclusive verdict regarding the revised paper.

The editor will ultimately communicate the final decision to the associated author. The accepted manuscript thereafter proceeded to the copyediting and layout editing stages before publication in an ongoing issue.

The submission to publication process spans three weeks to a maximum of three months, primarily influenced by two factors: the quantity of review processes necessitated and the responsiveness of contributors (editors, reviewers, and authors). Furthermore, while the manuscript may undergo a single review, additional reviews may be required if the revised manuscript fails to meet the expectations of both the assigned editors and reviewers.
