Abstract

During the one-year management period led by Mrs. Hj. Ma'rifah, many new things were brought, including a special program to prevent radicalism from entering society. Apart from traditional preaching, Fatayat of Kendawa village also embraces partners from outside NU to spread friendly and peaceful Islam. Furthermore, being aware of mass evangelism through online media which is favored by millennials, Fatayat of Kendawa village not only fights conservative and radical Islam by mobilizing young da'iyahs to rallies and campuses in the Brebes area, but also by socializing hegemony and media. Several years after the Islamic organization became a women's organization under the auspices of NU, Fatayat - or Putri Nahdlatul Ulama Muslimat - also requested permission to have its own central leadership, taking into account the branch level. The number of members continues to grow. Finally PBNU agreed to the request and since its establishment in 1970 this organization has become a space for young women to work and dedicate themselves in various fields, especially education and health.
