Tradisi Maca Yasin: Studi Living Qur'an di Desa Bajo Kecamatan Tilamuta Kabupaten Boalemo, Gorontalo

Abstrak

This study describes the Maca Yasin tradition in Bajo Village, Tilamuta Subdistrict, Boalemo Regency. The main framework of this study is: The practice and the religious legitimacy of the Maca Yasin tradition. This research is a field study employing a phenomenological approach, with data analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods. As a complement, the theoretical framework utilized is the study of the living Qur’an, with the primary objective of the research being to uncover the understanding of the Bajo Village community regarding the Maca Yasin tradition and its implementation process. The results of this study indicate that only a minority of the Bajo Village community-specifically a few prominent figures-understand the religious legitimacy of the Maca Yasin tradition. Among these legitimacy are information from the Qur’an and Hadith regarding the command to recite the Qur’an, as well as the virtues of Surah Yasin as a cure and the heart of the Qur’an. The Maca Yasin tradition is performed every Monday and Friday night, and when someone is sick, with the aim of seeking healing, warding off misfortune, asking for sustenance, and for various other occasions. The implications of this research are oriented toward the preservation of cultural traditions, particularly religious activities that encompass the living Qur’an.
