Studi Tentang Dominasi Kekuasaan Keturunan Arung Gantarang IX di Desa Bontomacinna Kecamatan Gantarang Kabupaten Bulukumba

Abstract

This study examines the people and descendants of Arung Gantarang IX in the spectrum of power, in Bontomacinna Village, Gantarang District, Bulukumba Regency. This study aims to determine the position of the descendants of Arung Gantarang IX in Bontomacinna Village, as well as to find out the factors that cause it so that the community is more dominant in choosing the descendants of Arung Gantarang IX in government in Bontomacinna Village. This research was conducted in Bontomacinna Village, Gantarang District, Bulukumba Regency. The theory used in this study is the theory of familialism, elite theory and client patron theory. This research uses a type of qualitative research with descriptive methods. The results of this study concluded that: The pattern of patronage is still very strong in the Bontomacinna community, making it easier for the descendants of Arung Gantarang IX to become leaders because the social spirit of the descendants of Arung Gantarang IX towards small communities is still high, and the people's strong belief in culture and customs that exist in the village Bontomacinna. The position of the descendants of Arung Gantarang IX in society is that of the government and community elite. The factors that caused the community to legitimize the descendants of Arung Gantarang IX in village head elections were: 1) Descendants, 2) Patron Clients, 3) Ajjoareng. It is hoped that the election of the descendant of Arung Gantarang IX as the village head will always prioritize the welfare of the community in carrying out the mandate that has been entrusted by the community to him.
