Abstract

This study discusses the Orientation Patterns and Political Attitudes of Santri at the Hubulo Islamic Boarding School, Tapa District, Bone Bolango Regency. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. From the results of the research conducted, it shows that the Political Culture at the Hubulo Islamic Boarding School has its own characteristics and has been carried out very well. The type of political culture of the Hubulo Islamic Boarding School students leads to a type of Subjective political culture. This is because Islamic boarding schools are a small community. With people who live based on the values ​​of Islamic teachings. The students at the Hubulo Islamic Boarding School have a relatively high frequency of orientation towards knowledge of the political system in general and objects of understanding regarding policy making made by the government. These students feel they are part of the citizens of a country. They also pay considerable attention to politics but are passive. This means that emotionally they do not feel practically involved in the processes and political events that occur. When they are talking about political matters, there tends to be a feeling of discomfort because they don't trust other people so easily. In addition, the santri thought that when dealing with state institutions, they felt weak and could not do much.
