This paper examines the process of transforming Islamic law into fatwa, both institutionally and personally issued. Several institutions and individuals have the authority to provide religious views and play an important role in articulating Islamic law in social, political and cultural contexts. This paper uses a qualitative approach by analyzing various fatwas to understand how Islamic law is adapted, translated, and applied in modern society. Fatwa in general not only serve as a guide for Muslims, but also a bridge between Islamic values and the dynamics of contemporary society. The transformation of Islamic law through fatwa reflects an effort to maintain the relevance of Islamic teachings while responding to the challenges of the times. This paper provides insights into the mechanisms of interpretation and adjustment of Islamic law in the context in which fatwa are issued, as well as their implications for religious life and the laws that apply in society.
