AI dan Toleransi Digital: Smart Generation for a Peaceful Civilization

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the role of AI in fostering moderate character among young people in building social harmony and a civilised technological ecosystem. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, conducting virtual interviews with 10 students majoring in English Education at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo. Ten questions were posed to participants using a semi-structured interview. The results indicate that AI can serve as a medium for reinforcing values of tolerance, openness, and empathy through cross-cultural exposure, translation features, and interactive learning. However, excessive reliance on AI can reduce critical thinking skills and ethical awareness. This study concludes that the integration of AI, digital ethics, and moderation values is crucial for shaping a generation that is technologically savvy and possesses civilised character.
