UPAYA MEMBANGUN HARMONI SOSIAL MELALUI NILAI – NILAI BUDAYA LOKAL

Abstract

The effort to build social harmony is a crucial challenge in Indonesia’s multicultural society. This study aims to analyze the role of local cultural values in strengthening social cohesion and preventing potential intergroup conflicts. Using a qualitative approach through literature review and socio-cultural observation, the findings reveal that values such as mutual cooperation (gotong royong), deliberation (musyawarah), tolerance, and mutual respect significantly contribute to maintaining social balance. These values serve not only as moral guidelines but also as social mechanisms that regulate harmonious community interactions. The revitalization of local culture through education, community activities, and public policy is an essential strategy to reinforce collective identity amid globalization. Therefore, the internalization of local cultural values can serve as a foundation for building a peaceful, inclusive, and civilized society.
