Abstract

The implementation of Information Technology (IT) in Islamic school management had become a strategic step to enhance administrative efficiency and management transparency. Many Islamic schools had adopted Management Information Systems (MIS) to organize academic, administrative, and financial data in a more structured and accessible manner. However, several challenges hindered the implementation of this system, including a lack of technological literacy, budget constraints, resistance to change, as well as data security and regulatory issues. This study employed the library research method by analyzing various academic literature related to MIS implementation in Islamic education. The findings indicated that MIS provided numerous benefits, including faster access to information, more systematic reporting, greater efficiency in school administration, and enhanced transparency in decision-making. However, to ensure successful implementation, schools needed to adopt strategies such as staff training, infrastructure investment, and strengthening data security policies. The implications of this study suggested that the adoption of MIS not only improved the professionalism of school management but also built greater trust among the community toward Islamic educational institutions. Future research should further explore the development of an MIS implementation model aligned with Islamic values and identify the best strategies to overcome technological challenges in schools with limited resources. With a more comprehensive approach, IT implementation in Islamic school management could serve as a strong foundation for building a modern, efficient, and transparent educational ecosystem.
